Oh my Goddd! New Years is really tomorrow! And my brother's birthday, Happy birthday Prem! I know you guys are probably too busy to read my blog because its NYE but - oh wait, Covid probably cancelled your plans. (It's just my humour, dw I'm not actually a bitch)
Anyways, is anyone else excited to see what 2021 brings? (Hopefully not another virus).
This is the time where we hear the famous words 'new year, new me'. But let's be real, you're still the same person, just trying to make a couple tweaks here and there. So lets change it to 'new year, BETTER me'. Cool?
Going into this new year, I want you guys to try go in with a positive mindset. Tell yourself that you are going to live your best life, put yourself first and work on your goals. SPEAK INTO EXISTENCE. Idc I'll definitely be hitting up some hot places this year, I'm owed like 5 holidays! I'm not letting no virus get in the way. (Lol I say that but I haven't even got the train in over a year). Anyways, this year is all about YOU. Tbh, every year is about you. But take the lessons you learnt in 2020, and use them to help you grow. If there is something you want to do, just do it. Don't even think about it. Think about it, (wow, what a contradiction vids) is there actually anything stopping you? Probably not. If it's things like I dunno, other people's opinion? Well f*ck them.
One of my goals this year is to just do me, for me and be the best version of myself. I'm going to do what makes me happy, regardless of what anyone else thinks, says, or does. I'm fed up of letting the opinions and judgments of others get to me, I ain't here to serve them! (Really wish you could hear the way I'm saying this ffs) I'm here for me and me only. That might sound selfish I know, but in life, sometimes you need to be a little selfish. As long as you're not really hurting anyone, it's all good. After all, "There's no such thing as a grave for two", just let that sink in for a minute.
I also want to get into a good routine. Ngl I've been wanting to do this for so long, but I find it so hard. I'll be doing good for a while and then when I have one off day, that's it. Just goes downhill from there.
Sidenote - I feel like when people read this, they're going to be like "how does she preach all this positivity stuff and how it's good to be in routine etc, when she doesn't even do it herself?". Well guys, I'm a fraud. Nah I'm joking. Like I said from the start, I'm still practising these things myself too. Nothing happens overnight, it's all a process.
But yeah, I need to make getting into a good routine a habit. I don't know if you guys have heard of the 5am club, but it's this concept which was created by Robin Sharma. Apparently waking up at 5am everyday is life changing. It's supposed to maximise your productivity, improve your health, happiness and overall well-being! I tried this one time and well yeah, didn't go as planned. BUT, soon I will be part of this club ok. I manifest it. But first, I need to try getting my lazy ass up at 9am. So if you've got any tips, slide in the dms. I know I'm the one that's supposed to be giving the advice, but sharing is caring.
Another one of my goals is to remove any negativity from my life. I've been doing this anyway, but I'm going to make sure no negativity or unnecessary drama falls into my life. If it does, I'm just gonna ignore it and walk away. I don't have time for any petty, playground bs. If you don't add value to my life, then buh-byeee. This might mean keeping my distance / cutting people off, but if it's got to be done, then so be it. Who you surround yourself with is so so important! Choose to be around people who share similar values and goals to you and are all about the good vibes, because it means you will have a similar mindset and you will push eachother. I'm so grateful for my circle of friends, defo picked a good bunch. Ya'll know who you are, ily.
But enough about my goals, what are yours?
When making them (if you do), don't put too much pressure on yourself to follow them. It is good to set yourself goals but don't expect too much from yourself, you're only human! I know it can be demotivating when you don't achieve something, but you can't be harsh on yourself. Just remember not to give up and continue to move at your own pace. Whatever you decide to do, I'm sure you will do it amazingly, because YOU CAN.
Not tryna tell you what to do or anything (actually I am), but if loving yourself isn't something you do already, please please make this a priority. Remember guys, self-love is key. And you, yes you, have so many things to love about yourself!
Happy New Year my loves! Wishing you all a prosperous new year and hope lots of opportunities, blessings and good things come your way, this year and every year.
Lots of love,
V x
